What do you think those sprays do to your dog and don’t you think those noise devices hurt the pet’s ear? With those thoughts in mind, it may be best if you turn to training. Training your dog not to bark is the best solution on the market as this is not a temporary solution, it is a permanent solution.
Before you start the training process, you need to ask yourself some question. What exactly is he/she barking at? When does he/she bark? Is there something that is triggering this type of behavior? If you find that your dog is barking because he/she is territorial, then you should not start yelling at them. Doing so could cause aggression in your pet. The pet will not understand that you want him/her to stop barking. Yes, they may stop barking, but that territorial issue is still going to be there. Instead, you need to teach your pet not to be territorial. This starts by you showing that you are the alpha leader of the pack.
Some dogs will bark until you return – that is anxiety barking. When you return, you immediately give them attention because they are so excited, so they view that is a reward. Instead of rewarding this cause, you need to ignore them for at least 10 minutes after you return home. Just remember, when you are trying to stop barking in your dog, you are the leader of the pack.
